ThermoDry Interior

The SurfaPaint ThermoDry® Interior is a high quality paint with thermal insulating properties and is ideal for interior use, i.e. children’s room, bathrooms, kitchens, hospitals, school buildings, hotels and public areas due to its high wash-ability and scrub resistance. It can also be used as a tinting base for light shades.

Thermal Insulating Properties

When thermal energy travels through walls and other surfaces, large amounts of energy are required for cooling in the summer or heating in the winter. SurfaPaint ThermoDry® Interior contains special nano and micro-sized thermal insulating particles that block heat transfer, reflect thermal radiation, and create a moisture barrier that can help significantly with energy saving.

Water-Tight Film

The SurfaPaint ThermoDry® Interior has excellent durability to UV radiation and alkali. It also forms an impermeable and elastic film of excellent adhesion, which retains its elasticity even under very low temperatures. It is resistant to adverse weather conditions and has long lasting durability. If that’s not all, its fluoropolymeric composition makes it dirt-repelling and also easy to clean.

Specifications

Thermal Conductivity 0.1292 W/(mK), [ISO 8302 (EN 12667:2004)] - corresponding value for a conventional paint is 0.50 W/(mk)
Thermal Reflectance >90% Reflection of the IR region of light (ASTM G173-03)
Scrub resistance Class 1 according to EN 13300

Application Note

  1. 1) Ensure all surfaces are clean and dry prior to application.
  2. 2) Remove any dust and dirt. Extremely dirty surfaces (damp, nicotine, ink, fungi) should be primed.
  3. 3) Stir well before application. If thinning is required, add up to 10% water by volume. Application temperature should be between 8-35°C.
  4. 4) Apply 2-3 even coats using a good quality brush, roller or by spraying with a tip of a diameter 1.4mm or more. Do not over-brush. Ensure corners and edges are adequately covered.

Additional coats should be applied 4-6 hours after the previous application.

Attention: SurfaPaint ThermoDry® Interior can be applied directly on interior wall surfaces (concrete, plaster, drywalls), and wherever water-based, acrylic paints are applied. New substrates from cement or masonry should have cured for more than 3-4 weeks before application. Adverse conditions during or immediately after application may affect the coating’s properties. The paint has a spreading rate of 10-12 m2/L.
